IMPROVING PREHOSPITAL CRITICAL CARE

THE NORWEGIAN AIR AMBULANCE FOUNDATION

We are a charity that provides research, innovation and training to advance prehospital critical care.

Our subsidiary, Norwegian Air Ambulance Helicopters, operates the government-funded Helicopter Emergency Medical Services in Norway and Denmark, and is a pivotal asset to our work.

The Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation pioneers new solutions to save more lives and mitigate the consequences of critical illness and injury.

Bridging the gaps in critical care

Our vision is to lead and stay ahead – for the sake of the patients.

Our mission is to save more lives and mitigate the consequences of critical illness and injury. We drive the development of prehospital critical care and a unified emergency response chain to ensure prompt and appropriate care throughout Norway, a country with a small population scattered across remote areas.

Every project is aimed at achieving this.

Our high-flying test lab

Aiming for the glass ceilings of prehospital critical care, our Research & Development Helicopter is fully dedicated to research, innovation and training.

The 2020 acquisition has been a game changer for what we can achieve, both in Norway and in collaboration with our international partners. It enables testing of new procedures and equipment, collection of research data, and training without taking a helicopter out of emergency service operations.

The R&D Helicopter is fitted with a full set of tailored medical interiors and carries replaceable, project-dependent modules suitable for a wide range of missions.
